Media Alert: Tjakastad Low Power Transmitter Launch
MEDIA ALERT: THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATIONS TO BRING THE SABC SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY OF TJAKASTAD IN MPUMALANGA

The Department of Communications (DoC) in collaboration with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and SENTECH, will be switching on a low power transmitter in the community of Tjakastad in the Municipality of Chief Albert-Luthuli, Mpumalanga Province.
The roll-out of the low power transmitter broadcasting infrastructure is part of the Department’s commitment to provide broadcasting services to all communities. The SABC plays a key role in ensuring universal service and access to South Africans working tirelessly towards making broadcasting services available to communities.
The low power transmitter will provide SABC 1, 2, 3 and Ligwalagwala FM to the community of Tjakastad, which is home to approximately 12,000 people.
